In connection with our real estate practice, we engage in most types of transactional matters with a special concentration in conveyancing, financing, and commercial leasing. Our general commercial practice encompasses contracts and business organization, factoring and financing facilities, and licensing. In litigation, the firm engages in general real estate and commercial matters, as well as landlord-tenant litigation. Due to the interrelated nature of each partner’s field, the firm’s partners generally work together in many matters using each other’s expertise in handling a matter on behalf of its clients. This results in a well-balanced approach to most commercial and real estate issues. Although each partner specializes in separate fields as described below, we staff matters with attorneys from all relevant areas so that the needs of a client are fully and expertly managed.
Our commercial real estate practice is particularly robust: we have great depth of experience in various industry sectors ranging from office buildings, retail space, shopping centers and student housing, both locally in the New York Metropolitan Area and nationally. Our engagements span acquisitions, financings, and leasing and extend to transactions in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The firm has represented both major landlords and tenants, which gives it a unique perspective in lease negotiations and landlord-tenant matters. We have over the years negotiated leases with a great many of the major rated retail tenants and are familiar with their negotiating strategies and methods of operation.
